Convenient Location with Charming Atmosphere
We stayed at Columbus Hotel and were delighted with its superb location just minutes away from the Vatican City and popular attractions in Rome. The hotel's historical charm was evident as we explored the beautiful common areas, adorned with impressive paintings and furniture.
While there were a few drawbacks, such as the lack of a clock and amenities like tissues and an iron, our stay was overall enjoyable. The staff, though not overly personable, were nice and professional.

This is a special hotel with unik atmosphere in an old residence from the church. So close up to St. Peters Cathedral, wonderful restaurant with excellent food. Best place in Rome for us.

Great historical building, 100 meters from St Peter's Square. Friendly staff, and very quiet considering the location on the main road leading to the Vatican. Very comfortable bed, and air-conditioning. No better option or location for a Vatican overnight stay.
Room furnishings are outdated, dingy carpet, obvious wear and tear. Room was indicated as non-smoking, yet had an ash-tray and complementary matches. Shower fixture sprayed in all directions, including the ceiling whose water stains indicated this was not a new problem. Room rate did not include breakfast, yet they offered to add it for an additional 15 euro at check-in. I declined and walked next door to a cafe for a 5 euro breakfast, Italian style. For the price of the room, breakfast should be included.

We had a fantastic stay at this luxury hotel! The location was perfect, just down the street from a famous square. We loved that it was in a palace owned by the Vatican, which added to the overall grandeur of the experience. The room was comfortable and had all the amenities we needed, including air conditioning and an in-room safe. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel truly pampered. We also appreciated the free Wi-Fi and the option for car hire service. this place provided enhanced comfort and quality services, making our stay memorable.
With its luxurious ambiance, excellent service, and convenient location, we wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to everyone. It definitely exceeded our expectations and provided us with an unforgettable experience.

Feeling of history in the public rooms
The beds were hard, so were the pillows, the carpet felt unclean, the bath tub had hair in it. No place to put anything down in the bath room.

Its beauty and history. We wanted to stay close to the vatican city as my Mother is 81 and cannot walk far. We especially wanted an hotel with character and old charm and we got it. A friend recommended it to us and we were not disappointed. We knew we were in Rome not in a plastic palace.
The online info is incorrect in regards to the rooms having a patio. The hotel are aware of this mistake as they have been questioned before. No rooms have patios but there is an excellent public patio garden.

As my daughter and I were in Rome to attend a Canonisation and friends with the same interests Hotel Columbus was absolutely perfect. For what I particularly wanted, the small amount of walking had to do was easy. The Terrace garden was great to relax in with a glass or cup of something. I would certainly recommend this hotel except for one thing. . . spaghettoni.
. . . when in Rome, don't choose pasta! The fish was magnificent, the ice-cream wonderful but for pasta - go to Florence!

Great location near popular attractions and landmarks. Large and friendly staff, speaking good English.
No wifi in the rooms, only available in the lobby and with poor connection. Air conditioning in the room was not fixed despite multiple requests.

I liked the location, close to Vatican and out of the very busy part of Rome. Also, there were several very good restaurants close by.
I found the one easy chair in the room very uncomfortable. Also, the price of 15 euros for breakfast was a little steep. Also, although we wee told that Wifi worked in the rooms, we found the reception in the room to be very sporadic. When we wanted to use the Wifi we went downstairs to the bar area.

The location of our hotel was absolutely amazing. We were just minutes away from St Peter's Square, allowing us to easily explore the Vatican and its stunning architecture. One evening, we took a walk up to St Peter's Square at night and were mesmerized by the illuminated beauty of the area. the main restaurant, La Veranda, was a highlight of our stay. It had beautiful frescos and opened up to a charming courtyard garden, creating a lovely atmosphere for our meals. the hotel provided a unique experience and an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the history and culture of a European capital city.
The rooms were a bit outdated and in need of some renovations.

The Restaurant and bar facilities are fantastic; a very aesthetically pleasing hotel that is on the door step of the vatican. What more could you want?
The room we were given was very basic compared to the rest of the hotel, but we did select the cheapest type.
